Bargeet Samaroh
A Bargeet Samaroh was held recently under the auspices of Society for Srimanta Sankaradeva at Duliajan Club on December 25, 2016. It was organised by Society for Srimanta Sankaradeva in association with Duliajan Club. The Sattriya Kendra of Sangeet Natak Akademy sponsored the event. Several maestros presented Bargeet in full classical style in the Bargeet Samaroh. It was for the first time that such an event was organised in Assam. Every Bargeet took about 20 to 30 minutes to render. The maestros who performed were Nilakanta Burabhakat of Bhogpur Sattra, Majuli, Gunindra Nath Oja of Barpeta, Gopiram Borgayan Oja Burabhakat and Upen Borgayan of Uttar Kamalabari Sattra, Majuli, Dhiren Chekonidhara of Narayanpur, Dr Pabitrapran Goswami of Saudkuchi Sattra, Jorhat and Ranjit Bora of Golaghat.
