Bihu: the agricultural festival of Assam

An important academic volume “Bihu: The Agricultural Festival of Assam”, prepared under the aegis of the North East Zone of ICOMOS India and edited by me was launched on June 29 at the Annual General Meeting of International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), India. The volume, containing 25 articles was unveiled by Dr Rima Hooja, President of ICOMOS India. She commended the extraordinary intellectual and field-based contributions of the authors in this path-breaking academic work. Leading cultural experts of India, GSVSN Murthy, Bikramjit Chakraborty, and Madhu Vottery spoke in the meeting. I offered a concise overview of the book’s structure and themes. National seminar on Srimanta Sankaradeva in Ayodhya

An All India Conference on Srimanta Sankaradeva was held in Ayodhya on 20-22 September, 2024 .   I delivered the opening lecture and also conducted one technical session on 20th September . I spoke on Srimanta Sankaradeva's achievement of Sustainable Development Goals five centuries ago itself in this national seminar. This event was organised by Kutumba Suraksha Parishad. This event was part of their celebration of the saint's birth anniversary. Scholars from 40 universities all over India participated in the seminar. I was conferred an honor in the name of Srimanta Sankaradeva, for my literary works on the life and contributions of the polymath. The award was titled Srimanta Sankaradeva Sahitya Sewa Sanman.
