Followers of Srimanta Sankaradeva

'Followers of Srimanta Sankaradeva' (FSS) is an international group of people working with the motto of spreading the message of Srimanta Sankaradeva globally. The group attempts to spread positive values in the society. Srimanta Sankaradeva was a multi-faceted genius, working in diverse fields like religion, literature, music, dance, drama, architecture, social reconstruction etc. These aspects are highlighted in articles preserved as document files. The group was founded by Dr Sanjib Kumar Borkakoti on February 23, 2011. There is no entry fees. No fund collection drive or commercial activity is permitted on the wall. It subscribes to the egalitarian philosophy of the saint, who taught people to treat every being as equal. There is no barrier of caste, creed, sex or religion in this group. People from all religions and all countries are added here as members with equal status. This group has succeeded in uniting different factions among the traditional followers of Srimanta Sankaradeva. Upholding the Sankari principles is a priority of the group.

Many precious photographs of Thans and Sattras and their cultural resources have been posted in FSS wall with detail information. Video of Naam-Kirtan, Bargeet and Sattriya dance recital are uploaded here. One can get a comprehensive picture about the Srimanta Sankaradeva legacy in this group. As on July 14, 2015, FSS has 21,873 members, 2000 valuable photos/videos and 92 documents. Members have to abide by FSS principles of posts/uploads/comments.

A few FSS members founded a real body ‘Society for Srimanta Sankaradeva’ (SSS) to promote the goal of FSS as well as to supplement its effort. SSS was formed under the S R Act, 1860 of India. It has 37 general members, 30 life members and 5 patron members as on July 14, 2015, The page of SSS is www.facebook.com/Sankaradeva. It has organized events, conferences and published books, brochures etc. Official website of SSS is www.sankaradeva.com. SSS also maintains www.bordowathan.com(Bordowa Than),www.barpetasatra.com (Devotees Forum of Barpeta Satra) and www.srimantasankaradevasangha.org (Srimanta Sankaradeva Sangha).
