Essays on Spiritualism

My new book 'Essays on Spiritualism' is English translation of the famous spiritual treatise 'Tattvakatha' originally authored in Assamese by the doyen of Assamese literature Lakshminath Bezbarooa. It is published by Vicky Publishers, Guwahati.

Prof Jagdish Mukhi, Governor of Assam released the book on 22nd January, 2020 at Raj Bhavan, Guwahati in presence of Dr Saumen Bharatiya, Samudra Gupta Kashyap, Dr Mallika Kandali etc.

The chapters in this book are : religion and concept of God, concept of attributeful and attributeless religion, concept of lord Krishna, concept of stealing clothes, concept of Rasa sport, concept of the Vedas, concept of Geeta, concept of Bhagavata, concept of Kirttana and Ghosha, concept of devotion, concept of Nama Dharma, essay on spiritualism, Brahma and Bhagavanta. Thus it can be seen that the author presents the entire spectrum of devotional approach in the Sanatana religion in the book. But everywhere he highlights the devotional style propounded by Srimanta Sankaradeva. Clearly his aim was to present the Sanatana Bhakti religion as propounded in Srimanta Sankaradeva’s Eka Sarana Nama Dharma and establish the saint as a leader of the Sanatana Bhakti movement. The analyses put across by the author successfully projects Srimanta Sankaradeva in an all-India perspective. This book can be treated as a major treatise on Sanatana Bhakti movement. Scholars of Sanatana religion will benefit from it.
