Outlook of Srimanta Sankaradeva

Image
My book "Outlook of Srimanta Sankaradeva" was released in a national seminar held at Bardowa in September 2025. The book has brought out different achievements of the polymath, both in cultural and religious spheres. Srimanta Sankaradeva's works were instrumental in defining the culture of people. He empowered people through culture. He was pioneer in areas like symbolism, drama etc. His contribution extended to national sphere also. His Ankiyā bhāonā were trendsetters in medieval Indian theatre. But some people have been spreading disinformation about him from time to time, falsely attributing his works to other sources. This book discusses several such issues.  The overall motive behind presenting this book to the readers is to illuminate some areas, which are seldom discussed or not discussed at all. I have also been making sustained effort to find proper place for Srimanta Sankaradeva in the all-India context. The presentations in this book have that purpose also as a...

Edgar from Israel accepts Nama Dharma

Image
In a remarkable display of cultural exchange and spiritual exploration, a 47-year-old Israeli national, Edgar Faingor, embraced the Eka Sarana Nama Dharma, founded by the great polymath Srimanta Sankardeva. Initiated at Bali Sattra in Kaliabor, Edgar's journey into Vaishnavism marks a significant milestone. He became the first foreign national to take initiation in Eka Sarana Nama Dharma. The initiation ceremony was conducted by the Satradhikar of Baghargaon Satra, Hiru Prasad Mahanta. He renamed Edgar Faingor as Krishna Sharana Bhakat.  This event was culmination of communication with me over a long time. It underscores the global appeal and universality of Vaishnavism, transcending geographical and cultural boundaries. Edgar's spiritual quest began with his extensive travels across numerous countries, where he delved into the study of various religions, eventually finding solace in Buddhism. However, his exposure to my works sparked a profound connection with the te...
